French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro said that Ukraine has the right to use French weapons, including missiles, for strikes on Russian territory. He made such a statement in an interview for the BBC , emphasizing Ukraine's right to self-defense in accordance with international law.
He added that strikes by French long-range missiles on Russia could be carried out "in the logic of self-defense."
At the same time, he did not confirm that French weapons had already been used.
"The principle has been established... our messages to President Zelensky were well received," the minister said.
He also did not rule out sending French troops to Ukraine. Asked about the possibility, Barro said: "We are not ruling out any option." And expressed readiness to invite Ukraine to NATO.
"We are ready to offer an invitation, and therefore in our discussions with friends and allies, as well as with friends and allies of Ukraine, we are working to bring them closer to our positions," Barro said.
