In Ukraine, martial law and general mobilization may be extended for another 90 days in the near future. The relevant bills are already being prepared for consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by People's Deputy from Holos Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
Martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine will be extended for another 90 days. A vote in the Verkhovna Rada is expected next week. The relevant decision must be made by February 8, as the current presidential decrees are in effect until that date. After the extension, martial law and mobilization will last until May 9, 2025.
To continue these measures, the president must submit two bills to parliament approving his decrees. As one of the parliamentarians noted, this is expected to happen as early as Monday. After the bills are submitted for consideration, they will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence for preliminary approval.
After consideration in the committee, the bills will be put to a vote in parliament. If the deputies support the extension of martial law and mobilization, the president will sign the relevant laws. This will ensure stability in the country in wartime conditions and contribute to further strengthening of defense capabilities.
Mobilization in Ukraine will continue in 2025 without changes in age restrictions, with men between the ages of 25 and 60 being called up for service. Special attention will be paid to citizens with combat experience and specialists in high-demand fields.
