The Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is actively working on developing weapons and equipment aimed at deterring a possible enemy attack. However, the need for support from allies remains unchanged.
Representatives of the Congressional National Security Strategy Commission paid an official visit to Kyiv. They not only inspected the production, but also noted significant improvements in the characteristics of the Neptune cruise missiles.
Recall that it was these missiles that allowed the Defense Forces to effectively sink the cruiser “Moskva”. Ukraine’s plans for 2024 include increasing the production of such equipment by at least 10 times, and also plans to increase the flight range to 1,000 kilometers.
The American guests emphasized the importance of tactical drones and FPV drones on the battlefield. Ukraine is currently in urgent need of 155 mm artillery shells, so strike drones have been identified as the main means of attack.
The Ministry of Defense plans to purchase 1.2 million UAVs for military personnel in 2024. According to the deputy head of the ministry, Lieutenant General Ivan Havrylyuk, a new version of the missile for the Neptune complex is being developed. Currently, they are actively working on the creation of the so-called “long Neptune” – a new modification of the missile for this complex.
