Ukraine plans to create a Military Bureau of Investigation to combat war crimes

People's deputies of Ukraine plan to create a Military Investigation Bureau to investigate war crimes. This was stated by the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union, People's Deputy Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.

Nalyvaichenko said that the parliament voted for the creation of military justice in Ukraine in order to ensure an independent investigation and bring to justice anyone who violates the law or discredits the Armed Forces.

"The Military Bureau of Investigation will carry out investigations, bring people to justice and send cases to court," Nalyvaichenko said. He also emphasized that this body will not replace the military prosecutor's office, but will have expanded powers in the field of military issues.

Nalyvaichenko also discussed the transfer of Ukrainian counterintelligence under the Ministry of Defense in order to strengthen internal security and prevent the intrusion of foreign agents.

These steps should contribute to improving the efficiency and independence of military structures in Ukraine.
