Ukraine plans to hold Pokrovsk and Kursk until Trump's inauguration

According to information from a source in the President's Office, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has tasked the commander of the forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, with the task of holding important territories, including Pokrovsk and the Kursk region, until the inauguration of Donald Trump, which is scheduled for next year. According to the source, Bankova aims to demonstrate stability at the front in order to be able to negotiate from a better position.

The main goal of this plan is to create favorable conditions for future diplomatic steps and negotiations with Russia. The authorities do not want to look like a weak side that is backing down, and are keen to demonstrate that Ukraine can stabilize the situation, even amid heavy fighting. It is also important for ensuring Ukraine's position on the international arena in the context of the changing political situation in the USA.
