This autumn, Ukraine will start the process of exchanging information about the bank accounts of its citizens with the countries of the European Union. This was reported by People's Deputy of Ukraine Nina Yuzhanina in her Telegram channel.
"The DPS will receive information on the state of bank accounts of residents of Ukraine abroad, as well as a whole range of financial information on members of international groups of companies in terms of foreign tax payment jurisdictions, income volumes, types of activities, number of employees and much more," she said.
According to her, this became possible after the positive report of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on the "maturity" of the Ukrainian financial security system.
Information exchange will begin with 115 countries, including EU members, where more than four million Ukrainian refugees live.
We will remind that the law that allows such an exchange was adopted and signed by Zelensky in March 2023.
But it can affect not only ordinary Ukrainians. According to Yuzhanina, after the exchange of information begins, it may become clear that "some in power did not submit or did not submit all the information about controlled foreign companies."
She assumes that this is why the responsibility for not submitting such reports before the end of martial law and six months after it was abolished.
