Ukraine has launched an initiative to collect DNA samples abroad for the effective search of missing persons. This was reported by Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
According to him, the collection of information on obtaining DNA samples abroad as part of search activities on the territory of Ukraine has begun. The procedure is available to citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons seeking to locate their missing relatives.
Places for submitting DNA samples operate on the basis of the State Enterprise "Dokument". The obtained samples will be handed over to the investigators of the National Police for further search and identification of the missing persons. Applications for participation are accepted until January 15 at the e-mail address: [email protected] .
In the application, it is necessary to indicate personal contact data (name, phone number), the address of the unit to which it is planned to apply, and the approximate date of a possible visit. The main goal of this project is the identification of persons who have gone missing on the territory of Ukraine, in particular under special circumstances, which will contribute to the faster disclosure of similar cases.
