The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine presented the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) to local governments.
Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sobolev, noted that the government will seek appropriate resources to achieve the goals set out in the NECP. The plan envisages attracting both private investment and donor funding to facilitate the implementation of “green” projects throughout Ukraine. This, according to Sobolev, will contribute to the development of local communities, create new jobs and improve living standards, and ensure sustainable economic growth.
According to him, the NECP is an important document that aligns the goals of all strategies related to the economy, energy, and climate, and reflects what these sectors will be like in 2030.
The development of the NPEC is coordinated by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, which includes all key ministries and departments, together with independent experts with the support of the British Embassy and the Net Zero World Initiative.
