Ukraine proposes to regulate Telegram jointly with Europe

According to the message of the head of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting (National TV Council) Olga Gerasimyuk, Ukraine is considering the possibility of regulating the Telegram messenger together with Europe. This involves including the platform in the list of digital platforms that are subject to regulation, which will allow it to be blocked and fined for violations of the law.

"In such cases, blocking or in case of violations of the law may be fined. How does it happen with other companies on this list," Gerasimyuk said.

She also suggests banning Ukrainian officials and state organizations from maintaining Telegram pages.

And we remind you that according to social surveys, Telegram channels are the most popular source of information for Ukrainians (53% of respondents chose the messenger). The second and third places are shared by interpersonal contacts (relatives, friends, acquaintances - 42%) and YouTube (40%). But only 37% of Ukrainians use Telemarathon to get information.
