According to the 2024 E-Government Development Index, published by the United Nations, Ukraine ranked fifth in the world in terms of the level of development of digital government services. This international rating assesses the level of e-government and the involvement of citizens in interacting with the state through electronic services.
Over the past few years, Ukraine has made an impressive leap in digitalization. From 102nd place in 2018, the country has risen to fifth place in the Online Services Index, which assesses the quality and accessibility of online services. Particularly impressive are the results in the E-Participation indicator, where Ukraine took first place, indicating the willingness of citizens to actively participate in government processes through online platforms.
“We were the first to equate electronic documents with paper documents and the fourth in Europe to launch digital driver's licenses. Registration of an individual entrepreneur in Ukraine is the fastest in the world, only 4 seconds,” commented the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, on Ukraine's successes.
Today, Ukraine's experience in digitalization is of interest in many countries. An important component of this process has been the “Diya” application, which is used by almost 21 million people. Thanks to “Diya”, Ukrainians can access 21 documents and over 30 various services.
