Romanian President Klaus Iohannis criticizes allies for insufficient support for Ukraine at the NATO summit.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis made an important statement during the NATO summit in Washington, expressing his dissatisfaction with the lack of support for Ukraine from Western allies.
According to a politician quoted by The Guardian, Ukraine has still not received from the West all the promised assistance necessary to resist Russian aggression and ensure its security in the face of military conflict.
"Regarding the assistance that we are all providing, I think it is time to be realistic: we have provided about half of what was promised," Iohannis told reporters.
He added that this is clearly not enough, and that "if we want Ukraine to win, we have to help more.".
As a reminder, during the opening of the NATO summit, US President Joe Biden announced the transfer of additional air defense systems, including Patriot, to Ukraine. President Zelensky thanked the US for the new Patriot systems, but said that they were not enough.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in turn, said that F-16 fighters from Denmark and the Netherlands are "on their way right now" to Ukraine.
