Ukrainian military units have secretly relocated to the Kharkiv region to prepare for an expected Russian offensive, Sky News reports. According to information, the soldiers of the 57th brigade, which is currently repelling Russian attacks on Vovchansk, were transferred to the north of the Kharkiv region on May 4-5. However, the soldiers themselves believe that this should have been done earlier to have more time for preparation.
As artilleryman Oleksandr told reporters, before the Russian infantry crossed the border, Russian troops shelled Ukrainian positions with artillery for about 3 hours.
"Before the assault, we had already struck targets on Russian territory because we knew they were gathering there. They were gathering brazenly. For the first few days, the Russians stormed our positions in columns of 30-50 soldiers. We struck at them," the soldier says.
According to the publication, the artillerymen are currently short of ammunition, otherwise they would have inflicted much more damage on the Russian army. The Russians have a 5:1 advantage in shells fired.
