Yesterday morning, while driving to the Zaporizhzhya NPP, an IAEA vehicle was fired upon. As a result of this incident, Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of a deliberate attack.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the Russian side could not but know about the purpose of this transport and acted deliberately. He emphasized that Russia could not fail to understand what it was doing, and this attack was planned.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, in turn, calls this incident a "provocation of Ukraine" on the eve of the extraordinary session of the IAEA Board of Governors, which will take place on December 12.
The IAEA has already officially confirmed the fact that the car was shelled in the territory controlled by Ukraine, approximately 8 km from the front line. The agency noted that no charges were brought against any of the parties.
