Warm weather will prevail in Ukraine this week, with short-term precipitation, but low temperatures at night, especially in the west of the country. Forecasters warn that the next few nights will be very cold, with thermometers in the west dropping to -15°…-20°.
Forecast for the beginning of the week
As forecaster Ihor Kibalchych reported, the first days of the new week in Ukraine will be under the influence of an anticyclone and a high-pressure field, which will contribute to a decrease in air temperature. This will especially affect the western part of the country, where frosts of -15…-20°C are expected at night. During the day, the temperature throughout Ukraine will fluctuate from -2° to +3°C.
In the second half of the week, air temperatures will rise, which will cause a thaw across the country. However, according to the forecaster, light precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, as well as rain and drizzle is possible at times. Fog, ice and slippery roads are forecast, which will require caution from drivers and pedestrians.
Forecast for January 13-15
- January 13 (Monday): snow is expected in the western and northwestern regions. There is ice on the roads. In the afternoon, the temperature will be within -2…+3°C.
- January 14 (Tuesday): There will be no precipitation in most of Ukraine. The temperature at night will be -3…-8°C, and in the west and in the Carpathians it will drop to -12…-17°C. During the day it will be -3…+2°C.
