The State Property Fund (SPF) announced its intention to privatize 100% of the shares of the PentoPak plant, which was confiscated from the Russian-Greek oligarch Ivan Savvidi. The head of the FDM Vitaliy Koval announced this information.
The initial value of the PentoPak share package is 203.7 million hryvnias, the auction is scheduled for May 31.
PJSC "PentoPak" is one of the largest Ukrainian manufacturers of packaging for meat and sausage products. The company specializes in the production of multi-layer synthetic shrink wrap. "PentoPak" products are used in Ukrainian companies such as "Rud", "Hlobino", "Meat Guild", and are also exported to more than thirty countries around the world.
The "PentoPak" plant, its office and warehouse premises are located in Boryspil near Kyiv. The company employs 193 people.
The previous owner of the plant, Ivan Savvidi, lost it because of his support for Russian aggression. Savvidi is the founder of the "Agrocom" group, the owner of meat processing and packaging plants, greenhouse farms and a factory for the production of carbonated water. He was also a member of the Russian Parliament from the United Russia party. In addition to his Russian citizenship, Savvid also holds Greek citizenship and has businesses and properties in Greece, including a port and PAOK football club in Thessaloniki.
Savvidi publicly supports the occupation of the territory of Ukraine and conducts business in the occupied Crimea.
In the first months of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the "Greeks of Russia" federation, headed by Savvidi, handed over all-terrain vehicles and generators to the security forces and emergency services of the occupation authorities in Donetsk. The Asorti chain of grocery stores, owned by Savvid, operates in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol and Simferopol, contributing to the integration of the peninsula into Russia.
