Ukraine will cope even without the US – Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that even in the event of a change in US policy towards Ukraine, in particular in the event of a possible victory of Donald Trump in the presidential election, Kyiv has sufficient support from the international community to survive.

In his speech at the Aspen Security Forum, Blinken made his first clear comments on the potential implications of a change of administration for Ukrainian support. He emphasized that any new American administration, regardless of political bias, would be forced to take into account the significant bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US Congress.

"Each administration has the right to form its own policy, but it is important to remember the security agreements that were signed with Ukraine. In addition to the United States, more than 20 countries and the European Union also support Ukraine," Blinken noted.

He emphasized that even if US policy changes, there are many countries that will continue to support Ukraine.

“If we back down, that’s possible, but fortunately, there are over 20 other countries that are doing the same thing,” the Secretary of State added.

Blinken also noted that Ukraine continues on a path that ensures its stability in the military, economic, and democratic spheres, regardless of changes in international politics.
