Ukraine will not be able to fulfill mobilization plans by the end of the year due to the slowdown in the pace of mobilization. This was stated by People's Deputy Solomiya Bobrovska on the stream “Great Lviv Speaks”. She noted that starting in September, mobilization began to decline, after Ukraine reached a certain level of implementation of the General Staff plan in the summer.
“Unfortunately, our autumn has gone downhill,” Bobrovska noted. She also confirmed that, amid a shortage of fighters on the front lines and a slowdown in mobilization rates, aircraft technicians and air defense specialists were transferred to the infantry.
The deputy noted that the General Staff plan, both for this year and for the current month, will not be implemented by December. “This is difficult, and again we are returning to the situation of spring 2024,” she added.
Commenting on the information about the need to mobilize 500 thousand people into the Ukrainian army, Bobrovska emphasized that such a figure does not appear in the plans for this year or next. She emphasized that there are clear plans for mobilization, and noted that the indicated figure of half a million requires clarification regarding the timing.
“Half a million people — in what period of time? This needs to be clarified. Because throwing around such numbers is irresponsible,” Bobrovska pointed out. According to her, there were plans for this year that were proven, and they are significantly less than 500 thousand.
If we talk about next year, when the General Staff will talk about the need to replenish combat brigades and form new ones, then we may be talking about different numbers. However, Bobrovska emphasized that the closed meetings did not talk about 500 thousand mobilized people.
