Former US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland announced that Ukraine will have access to new long-range weapons on the frontline, provided by partners, this summer.
Nuland noted that over the past three years, the United States has provided significant military and economic support to Kyiv. Special funds have been created to reconstruct critical infrastructure, provide energy support and humanitarian assistance. In addition, the Special Representative for Economic Recovery for Ukraine, Penny Pritzker, is working to revive Ukrainian cities so that people can return home and restore export opportunities.
However, Nuland said, while European and Asian allies are providing Ukraine with more financial support, Russia is inflicting more casualties. By some estimates, up to a thousand Russian soldiers are dying on the front every day to advance a few kilometers and take a few villages.
Nuland expressed confidence that the United States will continue its support for Ukraine, including through new and long-range weapons that will be used on the frontline this summer.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany, together with France and Poland, is purchasing more weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the world market. After the meeting of the "Weimar Triangle" in Berlin, Scholz noted that this approach was agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
In addition, according to the German Chancellor, the three countries have agreed on a “new coalition of long-range rocket artillery” for the Ukrainian army. The coalition for the procurement of long-range artillery will be formed within the Ramstein Contact Group, which consists of 50 countries and meets regularly to organize support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.
