Ukrainian designers are actively working on the creation of a new long-range missile-drone called "Trembita", which can hit a target at long distances, in particular, in the depths of Russian territory. According to information provided by The Telegraph , the development of this technology will take another year or so to complete.
At the same time, the publication notes that "Trembita" will not be as accurate, powerful and will not have such penetrating power as ATACMS, Storm Shadow or SCALP.
Therefore, although it is being developed so that it does not depend on the supply of Western missiles in terms of range, it will not be able to hit similar targets. The "Trembit" volley will be able to successfully hit, for example, a large production. But not an underground bunker. But it will be significantly cheaper. ATACMS is worth over a million dollars.
And while the development of the long-range version of the "Trembita" continues, Ukraine is preparing to start mass production of its basic model, which has a range of 150 km with a 20-kilogram warhead and a small cost of about 10 thousand. dollars
