From July 17, 2024, new rules regarding mobilization and border crossing for conscript citizens will come into force in Ukraine. These changes were the result of the end of the two-month period during which Ukrainians had the opportunity to clarify their military registration data.
Lawyer Roman Lykhachev told about it. According to the innovations, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 must now carry military tickets or certificates of deferment from mobilization when crossing the border. The State Border Service of Ukraine is strengthening control and checking not only the presence of military documents, but also their relevance.
According to Lykhachev, changes in the legislation led to an increase in fines for violations of military records, which can now reach from 17 to 25.5 thousand hryvnias. Experts emphasize the importance of timely updating of military documents, as non-compliance with these rules can have serious consequences for citizens.
The new rules will also affect the procedure for obtaining postponements from mobilization, forcing citizens to contact territorial recruitment centers (TCC) more often to renew the necessary documents. This may put additional strain on these already overburdened institutions.
In general, the new rules are aimed at strengthening control over the performance of military duty and better management of human resources in periods of increased tension. However, they also create new challenges for both citizens and state structures, which are obliged to adapt to the new requirements of the law.
