Ukrainian analysts and military bloggers are expressing serious criticism of the Ukrainian authorities for spreading unrealistic news from the battlefield, CNN reports.
According to the report, Russian forces have made progress in at least three points on the eastern Ukrainian front, carrying out tactical offensives daily and setting a new pace on the battlefield.
Against this background, military bloggers and analysts criticize reports from official sources about the situation on the front for being unrealistic.
One of Russia’s main efforts is in the Donetsk region, where Russian troops are advancing in eight different places along the front line, according to monitoring group DeepState. Elsewhere, about 180km to the north, Russian troops have also made their first gains in nearly three months on the part of the front line that cuts into Kharkiv region.
“You can watch the video of a Russian (soldier) being torn to pieces forever with pleasure. But there is another location nearby that requires attention: the Russians are calmly moving through the village, keeping it under control. The defense forces are inflicting fire damage on them, and you can repeat at least a billion times (on national television) that two-thirds of the village is under the control of the Ukrainian military, but the reality is completely different
,” writes DeepState.
Last week, a monitoring site filed a similar complaint against the military, accusing "some representatives" of incompetence, CNN reports.
Ukrainian Army Commander Oleksandr Syrsky responded to these concerns in a Telegram message on Sunday, suggesting that the misunderstandings arose due to the instability of the development of events. But Syrsky also acknowledged that the overall situation in Ukraine had worsened.
