Against the backdrop of the stabilization of the economic situation, Ukrainian banks have begun to massively review the terms of consumer lending, in particular, increasing credit limits on cards. This was reported by Oleksandr Alimov, head of the credit products department at Yunex Bank, noting that decisions are made individually - depending on the payment discipline of clients.
“We constantly monitor how clients use the available limits and regularly revise them higher for those who demonstrate reliable payment behavior,” explained Alimov.
Several large banks have already recorded a significant increase in limits:
-
At Raiffeisen Bank, the maximum limit reached UAH 500,000;
-
In FUIB - up to UAH 300 thousand;
-
At Yunex Bank — from 100 to 200 thousand UAH during the year.
The National Bank of Ukraine also records positive dynamics in the consumer lending market. As of May 2025, the debt of individuals amounted to about UAH 159 billion, which is slightly more than 2% of GDP. According to the regulator, this level is considered controllable and safe for the economy.
The banking sector believes that the market has the potential for further growth. This is influenced by the stabilization of the macroeconomic environment, reduced inflation expectations, and increased demand for financial services among the population. However, banks emphasize that the key criterion remains client reliability.
