Undefeated Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Solomennikov, with a record of 16-0 (8 KOs), became the new IBA International champion. At a boxing evening in Estoril, Portugal, the 26-year-old native of Ivano-Frankivsk region won on points over Venezuelan Maicol Beaumont (19-7-1, 9 KOs).
Solomennikov demonstrated excellent technique and dominated the ring throughout all ten rounds. According to the results of the fight, all judges unanimously favored the Ukrainian: 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.
