According to the results of 2025, the enterprises of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Joint Stock Company significantly increased the production of weapons and military equipment. Production output increased by one and a half times compared to the previous year, which was a response to the needs of the front and the conditions of modern warfare.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, emphasizing that domestic arms production is increasingly becoming the basis of national security. According to him, Ukraine is consistently developing its own defense-industrial complex, relying on technologies, engineering solutions, and human resources.
In 2025, the total value of manufactured weapons and military equipment reached 180 billion hryvnias. For comparison, in 2024 this figure was 122 billion hryvnias. At the same time, the number of government contracts increased by more than 50 percent, which allowed to increase the workload of enterprises and expand production capacities.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the increase in production is taking place within the framework of a systemic transformation of the defense industry. It is not only about increasing the number of products, but also about modernizing technological processes, developing new areas, and attracting investments in human capital.
According to Shmyhal, the state's goal is to form a defense-industrial complex capable of stably providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with everything they need and at the same time integrating into the global security system of the free world.
