Demand for foreign labor is growing in Ukraine. According to HRD-club co-founder Dmytro Degtyar, local companies are increasingly attracting migrant workers to fill the personnel shortage in a number of industries.
Foreigners are mostly employed as handymen, drivers, welders, and logistics specialists. According to the expert, Ukrainian employers mostly invite workers from India and Bangladesh.
"This flow awaits us. It will not be massive, but it is already there," Degtyar noted, emphasizing that business is beginning to adapt to the new realities of the labor market.
At the same time, the process of formalizing foreign workers remains complex and lengthy. On average, obtaining all the necessary permits takes about six months, creating additional difficulties for companies that need to fill vacancies quickly.
The expert also reminds that even after the borders are opened, not all labor migrants are ready to go to Ukraine - some of them are deterred by security issues and an unstable economic situation. At the same time, European countries are trying to keep Ukrainian refugees by offering them favorable living and working conditions.
