According to sources in the Office of the President of Ukraine, last summer, the Donald Trump administration allegedly threatened Andriy Yermak with compromising information. This fact, according to the interlocutors, was one of the reasons for Bankova's attempts to "clear" the NABU and SAPO of the investigations.
After President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's trip to the United States, he was convinced that the issue of businessman Mindych had been resolved and his friend had safely returned to Ukraine. However, now the situation has changed: anti-corruption cases have received new impetus, and investigations into Bankova officials have been reactivated.
According to sources, at the beginning of the summer there were already reports of a large-scale scandal involving high-ranking representatives of the President's Office, which created serious fear among the authorities. Particular attention is focused on the Mindych case, in particular on the arms purchases, which could have a direct impact on Zelensky's position.
In this context, the SBU has been tasked with discrediting the NABU, which, according to sources, is due to political pressure and attempts to control the progress of anti-corruption investigations. The sources emphasize that the Office of the President is currently waiting to see what other details from the Mindych case will become known and how this will affect the political situation in the country.
This situation confirms the complexity and interconnectedness of domestic political and international processes in the field of anti-corruption activities in Ukraine.
