In recent days, Ukrainians abroad have begun receiving numerous messages urging them to join the Ukrainian Legion, a volunteer unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine formed with Ukrainian citizens living outside the country. The move is part of an expanded mobilization and strengthening of Ukraine’s military forces amid the ongoing conflict.
Letters are sent from the Reserve+ application to users registered in it.
"Western technology, training in NATO countries, combat Ukrainian commanders and like-minded people - this is the Ukrainian Legion, where everyone can find a position in their specialty," the message says.
The link leads to the Legion's website, which states that it will be possible to go abroad on vacation, training will take place in Poland at NATO bases, volunteers will undergo 35 days of basic military training, followed by professional training and combat coordination, and the salary can reach 190 thousand hryvnias.
At the same time, many recipients of emails note that the Gmail system sends these messages to spam by default.
Let us recall that back in July, 3 days after the announcement of the creation of the Legion, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that several thousand people had already applied for membership.
