Ukrainian officials call for preparing children for war, but send their own abroad

In Ukraine, some officials, judges, and commanders of the Armed Forces promote the idea of military-patriotic education of children in schools and kindergartens. At the same time, their own children are studying abroad, which raises questions about the consistency of their statements.

A new story by Bigus.info shows several examples of double standards. Deputy Head of the 4th Recruiting Center of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Igor Shvayka called children who go abroad to study "rats escaping from the ship," but his son and daughter are in Belgium.

The daughter of the Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin is studying to be a veterinarian at the Estonian University of Natural Sciences. The official spent 220 thousand UAH on her education. People's Deputy Taras Batenko criticized the Ministry of Education for the outflow of young people abroad, but his daughter is studying at a Dutch university with a fee of almost 690 thousand UAH per year.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych constantly emphasizes the need to bring young people back to the city, but his family lives in Poland. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi stated that his children, who are studying in Britain, will join the army after 25 years.

And here is a small list of officials whose children are abroad:

Judge from Voznesensk, Marina Rotar, has a daughter studying in Austria.

Judge of the 5th Administrative Court of Appeal, Alexander Yakovlev, whose son is studying in the Netherlands.

Judge Iryna Logoyda from Uzhhorod — her daughter is studying at the University of London. A bachelor's degree costs from 18,000 pounds per year.

Judge of the Kharkiv District Administrative Court Yuriy Badyukov - his daughter is studying in Canada.

Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Semen Stetsenko — son studies in the UK.

Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Kostyantyn Ogorodnyk has a son studying in the UK. He spent over UAH 2 million on his son's education.

Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Viktoria Macedonska - daughter studies in the USA.

Judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal Tetyana Nevidoma - her son is studying in Germany.

Judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court, Valentyn Zaveryukha, has a son who studies in Slovakia.

Judge of the Primorsky District Court of Odessa, Olga Lyashko, has a son who is studying in Austria. Two companies from Cyprus paid for his education — over 4 million UAH.

Such cases cause public outrage, as children of officials take advantage of opportunities to study abroad, while schools and kindergartens promote preparation for war. At the same time, many officials explain that their children are adults and choose their own place to live and study.
