Ukraine has received additional funding of $1.34 billion to partially offset non-security and defense-related state budget expenditures. This funding came under the World Bank's PEACE in Ukraine project, which is being implemented to ensure stability and support social spending.
The financing consists of a $1.086 billion World Bank loan through the ADVANCE Ukraine Trust Fund, guaranteed by the Government of Japan. Additionally, grants from Norway ($190 million), the Government of the United States ($50 million), and the Government of Switzerland ($20 million) were received through the respective Ukraine Support and Reform Funds.
The funds received are intended to compensate for expenses, in particular for pension payments and payments to employees of the State Emergency Service (SES). Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko emphasized the importance of international financial assistance in ensuring the country's financial and economic stability and ensuring priority social expenses during the war.
