Artist Andriy Danylko, known as Verka Serdyuchka, expressed his opinion on modern Ukrainian music and the creative approaches of young performers. In a comment for Yevgeny Sinelnikov's YouTube channel, he noted that the word "home" is used too often in new songs, which has become a kind of cliché in patriotic compositions.
According to Danilko, such repetition leads to a loss of uniqueness and sincerity in music. He emphasized that mass copying of themes and phrases deprives songs of individuality and makes them similar to each other. The artist called on young musicians not to follow patterns, but to look for their own creative angle, touching on other topics, in particular love and personal experiences.
“Don’t do like everyone else. Because I can’t hear the word ‘home’… Everyone has ‘home’. It no longer sounds like sincerity,” Danylko noted. He added that the Ukrainian language and patriotism are important, but the content of the song must be sincere and talentedly presented, otherwise the listener will not feel emotions, regardless of the topic.
The artist also admitted that there are currently no young performers he constantly listens to, although he acknowledges the presence of talented artists. He emphasized that popularity comes only through true talent, not through buzzwords or trends.
