The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an order on signing an Agreement with the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which provides for the secondment of Ukrainian prosecutors to the ICC office in Ukraine.
They will participate in the collection of evidence and procedural support for investigations into international crimes committed during Russia's armed aggression, working together with their colleagues from the ICC. Such cooperation is designed to strengthen information exchange, improve coordination, and implement the best global practices in international criminal justice.
The agreement defines the procedure for secondment, guarantees the independence of prosecutors, and establishes their legal status. Its implementation will not require additional funding from the state budget.
The document was prepared on the basis of the ICC model agreement and finalized by the Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Prosecutor General in consultation with representatives of the court. It complies with Article 44 of the Rome Statute and will ensure the permanent presence of Ukrainian prosecutors in the office of international justice on the territory of Ukraine.
