Ukrainian border guards do not release men who are legal guardians of women with disabilities

Border guards of Ukraine do not let men out of the country, even if they are the legal husbands of women with disabilities.

This follows from the incident described by the State Border Guard Service.

Border guards in the Odesa region did not let a man who recently married a disabled woman into Moldova. The marriage was concluded three days ago, on March 20.

"During the conversation, the border guards found out that the young people barely knew each other, as they told completely different stories. Even the place of common residence did not match.

In addition, it turned out that last year the woman from Odessa was already married and went abroad to Moldova with her ex-lover. However, he never returned to Ukraine," the DPSU reports.

As a result, the man was refused the crossing.

It should be noted that the law does not stipulate the right of the DPSU to consider some marriages fictitious and others not, if the marriage itself was officially registered.
