According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Ukrainian military Sea Baby naval drones have begun actively laying underwater mines in the Crimean area, which has led to the destruction of Russian warships.
They planted more than 15 180 kg explosives on routes used exclusively by Russian warships.
Four Russian ships were hit with the help of Sea Baby naval drones.
Namely, the corvette “Samum”, the patrol boat “Pavel Derzhavin”, a large tugboat that arrived after it, and one mine-clearing ship. In addition, the “Derzhavin” was blown up twice.
The mines began to be laid after the Russians built large barriers at the entrance to the port of Sevastopol following the first Sea Baby strike.
The mines are made of plastic, weigh about 180 kg, and are reportedly difficult to detect because they sink in silt in shallow water.
