A citizen who worked for the Russian secret service has been sentenced in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Zavodsky District Court of Kamianskyi found her guilty of high treason and sentenced her to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
According to the resource "Court Reporter", the woman lived in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, and, having pro-Russian views, had been in contact with an unidentified representative of the Russian FSB via Telegram since 2022.
On the instructions of Russian curators, in June 2024, she rented an apartment and installed hidden video surveillance there - mobile phones directed at a specific point. The Russian special services had online access to broadcasts from this apartment.
The second episode looks especially cynical: on the orders of the FSB, a woman placed a camera in the premises of the St. Vladimir Church in Pokrovsk. The device was set up to film the roadway nearby - and it worked for several months. When communication with the camera was lost, the attacker came to the church and re-set it.
In August 2024, she photographed cars with the symbols of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the church and handed the pictures over to her curators. And in September, she passed on information to the Russians about the movement of Ukrainian military and equipment four more times.
The accused pleaded guilty and expressed remorse. In court, she claimed that she had cooperated with the investigation and helped solve the crime.
However, Themis was ruthless: the court imposed a sentence of 15 years in prison with complete confiscation of property.
