On the last day of the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, Ukrainian athletes demonstrated excellent results in kayaking and canoeing, winning two medals. Special recognition was given to Vladyslav Yepifanov, who became the champion in his discipline.
Vladyslav Yepifanov directly qualified for the finals based on the results of the qualifying races. This is his first Paralympics, and it was successful for him.
In the final of the single kayak at a distance of 200 m (class VL3), the Ukrainian showed a time of 47.49 seconds. This is a new Paralympic record at this distance.
Epifanov won "gold". This is the first gold medal for the Ukrainian team in kayaking and canoeing.
Maryna Mazhula brought the second medal today in rowing to Ukraine. She won "silver" in the 200 m single kayak race (class KL1).
This medal was the second in a row for Majula at the Paralympic Games.
To date, Ukraine already has 81 awards at the Paralympics in Paris. Ukrainian athletes won 22 gold, 27 silver and 32 bronze medals. Ukraine currently ranks seventh in the medal standings.
