Ukrainian strike drones are already capable of flying up to 35 kilometers, and record flights reach 40 kilometers. This was announced on the air of the "We are Ukraine" TV channel by the commander of the TERRA unit of the 3rd Army Corps, Mykola Volokhov, with the call sign "Abdulla".
According to him, Ukrainian drones are increasingly flying deep behind enemy lines, where the Russian military does not expect a threat. He noted that the enemy usually expects the flight range of Ukrainian drones to be within 10-15 kilometers, but trained crews are capable of significantly exceeding these indicators.
The commander emphasized that the effectiveness of such operations is ensured by individual configuration of drones for a specific day of combat mission. According to him, drones are not used according to a universal scheme, but are assembled and configured taking into account the conditions of a specific mission.
He explained that this involves using various components that allow you to choose the optimal radio transmitter, camera, and overall configuration. It is this flexibility that allows drones to adapt to changes in enemy tactics and counter electronic warfare.
“Abdullah” also reported a successful strike on a group of Russian drone operators using a modified drone specially prepared for the day. He said the operation was successful even though the Russian military was using mobile electronic warfare equipment.
The commander noted that the unit's priority targets are enemy manpower, artillery firing at Ukrainian forward positions, and enemy drone operators. According to him, the destruction of such groups is of critical importance, since without them the enemy loses the ability to use drones against the Ukrainian military.
He emphasized that the destruction of enemy drone positions directly affects the preservation of the lives of Ukrainian fighters, as it reduces the number of attacks on forward positions and reduces the overall level of threat from the air.
