In Ukraine, teachers will start receiving higher salaries in the coming weeks. This will increase teachers' income by 30%. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi.
According to him, the government had previously made a political decision to increase teachers' salaries from January 1, 2026. For this, the state budget for 2026 provides additional funding, and in early January, funds were already transferred to territorial communities as part of the educational subvention, taking into account the future increase.
The minister emphasized that teachers' salaries, as before, are formed from two components - the state educational subvention and additional payments from local governments. At the same time, the state increase does not cancel local incentives, but complements them, strengthening the basic level of wages.
"Now it is extremely important that during the January accruals all these components come together exactly as stipulated by the state decision. This is necessary so that every teacher can really feel the increase in their salary," said Oksen Lisovyi.
It is expected that educators will see increased payments in the coming weeks after all settlements are completed on site.
