On September 22, Ukrainian forces managed to regain control of positions in the Zaliznyanskyi direction in Donetsk Oblast and advance into Russia's Kursk Oblast, according to an updated map from the DeepState monitoring project.
Analysts noted that Ukrainian forces have successfully retaken positions near the village of Zaliznyanske, a significant step in the fight for control of this strategically important territory. In addition, Ukrainian troops have advanced in the Kamyshovka area in Kursk Oblast.
“Ukrainian Defense Forces have retaken positions near Zaliznyansky and advanced near Kamyshovka,” the DeepState report states.
At the same time, the report noted the advance of Russian troops near several settlements, including Kruglyakivka, Klischiivka, Krasnohorivka, Gostrom, Nevsky, Pivchny, Toretsk, Georgiivka, and Maksymilianivka.
