According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) , the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of Russia is ongoing, and the Ukrainian military has recently achieved new successes. On October 31, geolocation footage confirmed the advance of Ukrainian forces north of Sudzhi, in particular towards the western and southwestern parts of Russky Porichny.
However, there has been a relative lull in the Glushkovsky area. Meanwhile, Russian propagandists claim that their troops have made progress east of Koreneve, particularly near the settlement of Kremyane. These claims, however, remain unconfirmed by official sources or other independent sources.
Russian sources also reported assault operations by Ukrainian forces near Novoivanivka, southeast of Koreneve, and in the Plyokhove area south of Sudzha. Units of the Russian 83rd Separate Airborne Brigade and the 810th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet are operating in the region, providing defense of the territory.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region shows the intensity of the fighting and demonstrates that Ukraine continues to use active offensive tactics even on enemy territory. It also indicates the presence of Ukrainian strategic interests in this sector of the front, especially near the borders with Russia, which may be an important component in deterring further attacks by Russian forces on Ukrainian border regions.
