The situation on the front is becoming increasingly complicated, forcing the Ukrainian military to call for finding ways to end the war through negotiations. This is stated in an article in the German publication Bild , the author of which is deputy editor-in-chief Paul Ronzheimer, who recently visited Donbas.
Ukrainian military personnel said that they have significantly fewer manpower and ammunition than the Russians.
“In my personal opinion, the war has reached a dead end. Over the past three or four months, we have been forced to retreat. The Russians are increasing the pace, they have the means to continue [the war]. They have the people, they outnumber us. We must end this war. We must negotiate, but we do not want to give up our territory,” said Andriy, a fighter of the 68th brigade, who is fighting in the Pokrovsky direction.
He said that Russian assaults have never been as intense as they are now. Andriy suggests that this is due to the outcome of the US election.
"They fight at the same level as us. They have learned. Today their tactics are as follows: they find our positions and open massive fire on them. Sometimes they get hit, and it is very painful for us. After the shelling, they send a reconnaissance and assault group of three to five soldiers," says a Ukrainian officer.
Now, new defenses are being built 30 kilometers from the front line – “a clear sign of what Ukraine is preparing for.”.
