In the political arena, loyalty to influential figures is not only a sign of status, but also a key to access to important decisions. This dynamic is especially noticeable when one careless step can destroy relationships built over years. This is exactly the challenge that prominent volunteer and public figure Maria Berlinska seems to have faced.
Berlinska asked the head of the Dignitas , Lyubov Shipovich, to edit one of her publications and replace a photo of her with former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny. According to sources, the main reason was her fear that this image might cause discontent in the Office of the President.
Berlinska fears losing the loyalty of key players in the Office of the President (OP). For her, this could mean not only the cessation of her participation in important meetings, but also a potential blow to her reputation and influence over decision-making processes.
Those close to the situation suggest that this reaction is caused by some tension in the relations between the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Office of the President. In the current political climate, even a photo with the “wrong” partner can be perceived as an act of disloyalty.
The Berlin incident once again highlights the complexity of political life in Ukraine. Relations between the army, the police, and civic activists often have fine lines that are easy to cross.
