Young Ukrainians often choose European countries for higher education. However, even while abroad, they have certain obligations to Ukraine, including compliance with military registration rules. Therefore, young men who have gone abroad will have to return to their homeland to fulfill these obligations.
Ukrainian young men who have already turned 17 are required to register for military service. The Ministry of Defense notes that it is impossible to do this remotely - you must personally visit the territorial recruitment centers (TCK).
Recently, the “Reserve+” platform has been launched in Ukraine. The application allows you to update your military registration data online, but this option is available only to citizens who are already registered with the CCC. Those who have not yet registered must visit the CCC in person.
"The update applies to all Ukrainian citizens liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 60. To update contact details, as required by law, a conscript must be registered. Citizens are registered for military service at the age of 17. If this has not been done, the conscript must contact the CCC and the SP at the place of registration and register for military service. Currently, this is the only way, there is no such possibility remotely," the department explained.
