In recent days, rumors about the introduction of gas shutdown schedules have been actively spreading in Ukraine. Reports have appeared in the information space that allegedly due to the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine, restrictions on gas supplies to homes may be introduced. However, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CDC) officially denied these statements, emphasizing that the information about gas shutdown schedules is fake.
According to experts, these messages are part of a disinformation campaign aimed at causing panic among citizens. The attackers are using popular clickbait methods, spreading shocking headlines and fabricated articles, as well as links to dubious Telegram channels that allegedly provide “up-to-date schedules” of outages.
The Central Gas Distribution Center emphasizes that in reality no restrictions on gas supply in Ukraine are foreseen, and all enterprises are operating as usual, ensuring stable gas production, storage and supply. Naftogaz added the same, clarifying that the information about possible outage schedules is not true.
To avoid fakes, the Central Information Service advises checking sources of information and paying attention to spelling errors in messages. Particular attention should be paid to links leading to unverified bots or sites so as not to fall for the manipulators' hook.
For safety and accuracy, you should only rely on official sources, such as government websites or verified media.
