According to the forecasts of Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko, this winter Ukrainians may face serious problems with electricity supply, which could lead to outages of up to 12 hours a day. Such high forecasts are due to the emergency situation in the country's energy system.
“My basic forecast is that there will be a deficit in the energy system of around 30-35%. What does this mean for consumers? If they restore critical infrastructure and only then distribute the remaining power, then the deficit for consumers will be 50%. That is, the basic forecast is 12 hours without electricity,” Kovalenko told the Delo publication.
According to him, the final forecast can be made in August - then it will become clearer how many destroyed power plants can be restored before the cold weather, and how severe the winter will be.
Now, on average, Kyiv residents spend seven hours a day without electricity.
