Ukrainians can register a marriage from anywhere in the world through Diya

In Ukraine, it is now possible to complete the entire marriage registration procedure online – from submitting an application to receiving a certificate – without a personal visit to the DRACS. The new digital service of the Ministry of Justice is integrated into the Diya application, and a separate priority regime is provided for male and female defense attorneys.

The Ministry of Justice's digital services allow brides and grooms to completely formalize their marriage remotely. Now, you can submit an application, pass identification in state registers, choose a free date and time, and officially register your marriage online, using only a smartphone with Internet access.

The Ministry of Justice assures that the full procedure of official registration takes about 30 minutes. Both spouses confirm their consent and sign the act record using Diya.Signature. After that, the marriage certificate is sent by Ukrposhta to the specified address, and the digital confirmation of the marriage appears in the Diya application within 24 hours.

The service is available to all citizens of Ukraine, regardless of their location – both within the country and abroad. This is especially important for couples who have been forcibly separated due to the war, as well as for those who are unable to come to the DRACS department in person.

The Ministry of Justice places a special emphasis on military personnel. For defenders of Ukraine, simplified and priority access to the service is provided: identification can be done through the Army+ application, and separate “fast” slots for registration are allocated in the Action to minimize waiting and bureaucracy for military personnel, who often have limited time to complete documents.

The Ministry emphasizes that such digitalization not only simplifies the lives of citizens, but also reduces the burden on DRACS employees, allowing some services to be transferred online. For many couples, it is also a way to formalize relationships in wartime conditions, without wasting precious time on travel, queues, and paperwork.

The launch of full online marriage registration in Diya fits into the state's overall strategy to expand e-services and convert the maximum number of procedures into digital format so that citizens can resolve most legal issues remotely.
