Ukrainian prices jumped 44.2% due to the war

According to the State Statistics Service, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, prices for basic goods and services have increased by 44.2%.

The most expensive item was electricity, which rose by almost 178%. Food prices also rose significantly, rising by 50.8%. In addition, tobacco products became more expensive by 62.5%, and medicines by 45.4%.

Experts attribute this sharp increase in prices to several factors, the main ones being the crop failure caused by the war and the serious destruction of the Ukrainian energy system. These factors caused a significant increase in the cost of goods and services, which was directly reflected in the standard of living of Ukrainians.
