Utility costs are one of the main expenses for households around the world, and these costs vary significantly depending on the country. According to the latest analysis, Ukraine has the lowest utility bills compared to European countries. On average, Ukrainians pay about 85.14 euros (approximately 3,703 UAH) per month, which is significantly less than in other EU countries.
In the European Union, the most affordable utilities are in Malta, where the average monthly cost is €87.98. Bulgaria (€106.46) and Sweden (€107.05) also have relatively low utility costs.
However, the highest utility bills are observed in Western Europe. In the UK, the average utility costs are €291.16 per month, in Germany €302.26, and in Austria €334.94. Reasons for these differences include different energy sources, government subsidies, climate conditions, and infrastructure costs.
Despite the relatively low tariffs in Ukraine, rising energy prices and possible reforms may affect the future expenses of Ukrainians. In the meantime, citizens can check whether they are recipients of utility assistance in their personal account on the Pension Fund portal, where the month and year of the last accrual, the amount and the decision on the allocation of the subsidy are displayed.
