Ukrainians paid a record amount for luxury cars

The number of owners of expensive cars in Ukraine has increased significantly. If in 2023 there were 7,393 such people, then in 2024 there were already 10,217. Accordingly, revenues from transport tax have also increased significantly.

According to the State Tax Service, owners of luxury cars paid 220 million hryvnias in tax in 2024 - this is 37% more than in 2023.

  • Cars that are taxed are:
  • were issued no more than five years ago;
  • have an average market value of over UAH 2,662,500 in 2024 (over UAH 3,000,000 in 2025);
  • Owners of such cars pay 25,000 UAH per year for each car

Where do they pay the most?

  • The largest revenues from transport tax in 2024 were recorded in:
  • Kyiv – UAH 62.2 million;
  • Dnipropetrovsk region – UAH 21.2 million;
  • Odessa region – UAH 18.8 million;
  • Kyiv region – UAH 17.2 million.

Which cars are taxed?

The list of models subject to tax is formed by the Ministry of Economy. In 2024, 488 models were taxed, including Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Tesla.

In 2025, the list was reduced to 352 models.

Thus, the number of expensive cars in Ukraine is growing, and with it, tax revenues. If the trend continues, in 2025 the budget may receive even more money from luxury car owners.
