In the context of preparations for the winter period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has drawn attention to new fraudulent schemes related to the sale of charging stations. Police have uncovered a case in Nikopol, where a scammer demanded prepayment for non-existent devices, defrauding at least seven people.
It is noted that recently, Nikopol police officers exposed a fraudulent scheme: a con artist was posting ads on social media for the sale of non-existent charging stations.
The main condition for the purchase was a prepayment of UAH 5,000. Buyers transferred funds for the goods, but never received them. According to the police, at least 7 people were injured as a result of the attacker's actions. The fraudster has now been reported on suspicion,
How to protect yourself from scammers when shopping online:
- buy only from trusted stores with real reviews;
- do not trust too low prices or offers that seem too advantageous at first glance;
- Don't transfer money in advance – choose postpaid.
