Ukrainians who were left homeless during the war have the opportunity to receive compensation

Starting today, Ukrainians who received “eReconstruction” housing certificates as compensation for destroyed property have the opportunity to submit an application to reserve funds for the purchase of new housing. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, on his social media page.

According to him, Ukrainians can buy a house or apartment using these certificates. To take advantage of the opportunity, you need to choose housing, negotiate with the seller, update “Diya”, and then in the “eRecovery” section, open the “Certificates” tab for housing and select “Reserve funds”. Within five business days, “Diya” will receive confirmation of the reservation of funds.

Ukrainians who have already reserved funds are given 30 days to complete the purchase and sale agreement. You can purchase housing both in new buildings and on the secondary market. There is also an opportunity to invest funds in construction.

"If you don't manage to make it in time, you can submit an application for reserving funds again. Only notaries who have access to the Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property can draw up a purchase and sale agreement. Within five days, the funds will be transferred to the account of the seller of the home," Fedorov noted.

The Minister also emphasized that before booking funds under a certificate, it is important to make sure that you have already terminated ownership of the destroyed property. This can be done at the ASNAP or at a notary who has the powers of a state registrar.
